Makarov called up

From a Komets press release

The NHL's Buffalo Sabres announced today that they have recalled former Komet goaltender Andrey Makarov from the AHL's Rochester Americans.

Makarov (muh-KARR-off), who will be 21 April 20, made his pro debut with the Komets this season after being assigned to Fort Wayne by Buffalo through the Rochester Americans of the AHL on Oct. 31.  The Kazan, Russia native appeared in 31 Fort Wayne games and was 15-11-4 with a 2.79 goals-against average and .906 save percentage before being reassigned to Rochester March 17.

Makarov made his AHL debut March 25 with Rochester and appeared in six consecutive games, winning his last three straight.  He joins the Sabres on his first career NHL recall after posting a 3-3-0 record, 2.70 goals-against average and .912 save percentage with the Americans.

Congrats to Andrey! Blake, any word on if Dean is possibly going to be back into the lineup this week? If him and Dale were back at 100 percent this would be the best three lines we could see all season.

Dean wont be back until at least the playoffs and that sounds doubtful.

I spoke with Dale before Sunday's game.  He's all right and was disappointed that he did not dress.
