This is a story Brett Smith was telling us about the other night when he visited. It's about the 2004 Central Hockey League finals between Laredo and Bossier-Shreveport. Besides Smith, a few former Komets mentioned.

Guess the closest thing the Komets have had to this would be Elliot Chorley scoring three game-winning goals for St. Paul in 1960, even though he was later ruled to have been ineligible to play.
Of course, remember this is all written from the Boosier-Shreveport side. I'm guessing the Laredo folks feel differently.
