I could not believe the first two periods played by the Komets. I would guess some indivual Cyclone players had more checks/hits/takeouts then the entire Komet team in the first 40 minutes. Had the K's played the first two periods like they did in the third, the game would never had gone to overtime.
As for the penalty called in OT, I believe the linesman lobbied long and hard to get the ref to call the delay of game. From where the puck ended up in the stands, it had to cross over the boards, at the Komet bench and hence not subject to delay of the game. The ref, up until that call tried not to be a factor in the OT, and rightfully so.
The K's should have learned another fact that the Cyclones are not in the physical shape the K's are. Their players showed how tired they where as the OT went on.
The K's can rebound Saturday if they come out forechecking like heck. Play the body and wear them down. The other thing is get the puck to the net and score ugly goals off scrambles. There is no reason to panic, if the guys just play THEIR GAME and not to try to skate with the Cyclones!
