Here's what's happening in Europe

Talked to a long-time hockey official this week who told me that the European leagues have dropped a lot of the limits on import players. It had been two or three per team before this.

Traditionally, this lasts only a couple of years before they switch back to help control costs. It tends to go in three-to-five-year cycles. You've also got more NHL teams scouting European leagues more than they used to.

Best of both worlds for a talented young hockey player.  Three to four times more money and increased NHL scouting.  Grab it while it lasts.
