This can't possibly be true. Everyone knows that the AHL would never work out in Fort Wayne. ;-) Seriously, though, did the K's mention what the logistics are for the STH pre-sale?
Just what is posted.
Per the posting on the Komets website there will be presale for the STH's on Sept 2, 3, and 4. Sounds like they will have to be purchased in addition to the season tickets. Personally I'm okay with that because it was unexpected and the prices are fairly reasonable.
This is great news from a fan stand point and this will be fun for all of the keyboard coaches we have on the board including myself. I'm sure both teams will be playing quite a few fringe players so it will be fun seeing what players we coaches zero in on as hopefuls ! Can't wait !!
as any exibition game it should be pretty boring.
Amen. To me, it just means I have to work another Saturday.
You know for all the talk here about how we would do so well with an AHL Franchise I will bet the money I have in the bank right now that we only get about 3K there at the most.
I say we place the over under at 3000 people at the game. Now let the voting begin just post over or under.... I say UNDER.
1000
It would be totally imposible to be more boring than the Komet games of the last two years. This might be a chance to show that Fort Wayne would support better quality hockey.
I would like to think over but I will vote UNDER!
guys this is just a stupid exibition game! its got nothing to do with whether fans here would support an ahl team or not. and since guys dont fight in pre season anymore it will be just a bunch of guys under contract going thru the motions and a few guys trying to impress to get a contract so it wont be any different than watchng a echl exibition. boring.
There you go, Chuckitt, trying to throw logic and common sense into a blog discussion! How dare you! LOL.
I am going to vote under as well but I disagree that the game will definitely be boring. It really depends on where the teams are in their traning camp/exhibition schedule. Earlier in the schedule you may get to see the "bubble" players that are trying to make the team. I've found that these players can result in uptempo, physical hockey that can be pretty entertaining. My example would be the first exhibition game the Komets played at home last year. They were trying out many of the guys that eventually didn't make the team, but I remeber several big hits during the game incluing one by Nick Pokuluk that absolutely destroyed his opponent. (I also remeber thinking that if he (Nick) kept that up he wouldn't be around long.)
Granted pre-season hockey can be boring as well so really this game will be hit or miss on the entertainment value. But it could be a chance to see some of the guys that could potentially be assigned to the Komets. Either way I will be there. In my opinion the price is fair and I don't have anything else to do that night anyway.
yep i understand but that hit you saw pokuluk throw was i think the last one he ever did in a komet uniform!!! i dont get too excited anymore for camp cause its definitly not like the old days when guys were really fighting for a job. the ks will sign just enuff to fill out a roster and there wont be too many openings. we look good on paper but remember last year we looked tremendous on paper and had great size and in the end it didnt come close to expectations. thats why ive always said you really dont know what type of team you will have until christmas.
Still, those few guys trying to impress to get a contract, have more talent than most of the guys that we see on a game to game basis.
iM SAYING OVER 3000
