Komets announced Wednesday that they have trimmed the preseason roster by three players. Placed on waivers were forwards Alex Hudson and Brett Beebe and defenseman Mathew Maione.
Defenseman Matt Krug and forward Christian Ouellet have been placed on 21-day injured reserve.
The Fort Wayne roster of 21 players includes 11 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.

I really liked Alex Hudson. I though his fore-checking and back -checking were excellent. I would have kept him. He was not a great skater but he played with his head up the whole game. He made some of the better plays/passes I saw in the first game. He will be an asset on whatever team he lands on.
I agree on Hudson. He stood out not for his skill but his hustle. Maybe others shine brighter in practice and made up for his hustle. Sad for Beebe as well. A great guy off the ice!!!
You're right Stick, it's whining time again. I agree with RG2, Hudson did look good, he had more assists in the first 2 games than all others. He did play with his head up, good fore and back checking. He also wasn't afraid to check others into the boards!! I am suprised that they let Maione go. I thought that he played well. Had the speed, and moves like the other #14, Frankie D. Was not impressed by our lead goalie, Frenchy played much better. Too many soft goals got in on Saturday's game, I don't have much confidence in Nagle. He really needs to prove himself in the next 2 games!! What are Krug and Oullet on IR for? Anybody know? I know that Krug took a hit in the game, but he's a big solid guy, we got him for his size and density(body Mass), a good enforcer.
Its funny because i didn't think Hudson was all that. stong when he had the puck but looked lazy without it. every one can it see a different way.
Agree on Hudson..was skillful but very SLOW..not surprised.
Thought Maione..should have been released last year and other college kid defenseman should have been kept (name escaped me)..
Nagel..hard to judge based on defense in front of him..Krug had 2 goals against by having guys skate right by him twice Monday. .and coughed up the puck throwing it in front of the net twice in three games..Krug should be let go
