Tailing the Komets

Well, this is awful

Doesn't look like anyone is competing for a job tonight as Kalamazoo leads 5-2 after two periods. Pat Nagle and his defense gave up five goals on 19 shots through 30 minutes. No intensity, no skating, everything is in slow motion. Francois Tremblay looks OK so far.

Anybody you thought looked good tonight?

Embach looks good. Other than that...

Two things....

1. Is Pistilli injured?

2. How do nights like this happen if the leadership is so strong?

Embach, Szydlowski and Leach looked good.  The rest were pretty terrible.  Krug did the exact same thing he did the other night when he passed it out into his own slot and gave up another point blank look.  Cut him and save the vet spot and some $$$$.

Let me here everyone crying about team toughness once Schrock & Krug get cut!!! Come on folks we were the skating panties last few years......, goalies run & Marino getting MURDERED, that got us far! Mathew Miaone....TERRIBLE!!!! Agree no one hit or intensity for trying to make team...at all! Schrock or anyone should have tried to change tempo or spark team, by dropping gloves!

I thought that Drew Daniels was outstanding. Looked like the fastest guy out there, and can handle the puck well.

I like SOL! Dont think he will last long b4 being called up! Young, good size plus can skate for his size! Good shot & mean streak! Severyn missed him last period & half too! Did he get hurt too, or did I just miss him?

Dropthemits.....Schrock was here last season and those players didn't get protected...? How are things going to change this season?

Sol not so much, I thought Beebe looks solid as a 2 way player, Krug not so much , Leach looks pretty solid, Frazee is fast and has a lot of talent, Faille looks fast and pretty good also,

See your point JR, but know one did! He did try & had most fighting majors! Thats not gonna win games, I agree but thats too bad for one of the smallest guys on the team & no reason he should lead team in fighing majors,, not saying hes an all-star! ! That was last year, but everyone including myself cried about team toughness! Thats all!

Sol was late cut from Lake Erie plus 3 Ast & in preason (maybe wrong), fight & fast for size/pos! In AHL camp plus call ups for a reason! Im not going for the CHL ALL STARS or 25-40 goal scorers again, did us heck of job last year! Vaskiveau ( Spelling,?) Great signing, last year!???

I don't get why #79 continues to get a free pass. Management had no problem moving on from guys like Chaulk, Drouin, and Warner. All of those guys were better players and the first two were better leaders as well. It's clear its time for #79 to hang them up. If his leadership is so good then make him an assistant coach. There are more talented players to keep. It's time to move on.

i always think its funnny how some complain about a lack of toughness and then we bring in tough guys and the same people just tear them apart. if you want tough then you have to go along with their liabilities too. if the tough guys were complete players like you want, then the fact is they wont be here, they will be up in the ahl. so pick your spots. and im tired of the anti schrock drivile.  for the last two years he was an undersized guy trying to lead by stepping up and being our enforcer.  he is what he is, a third liner who hits and will fight but it was very unfair to leave the enforcer role to him. instead of trying to tear down a guy who is local and who is a leader in the locker room and trys harder than his talent, why dont you pick on the high pedigree guys who tank it every game? pick on the guys who are always running from the phyical stuff and pick on the guys who are plain lazy and just going thru the motions.  a third line guy should be the last of anyones worries. if schrock were cut i bet there would be about 20 teams lined up to get him.  pick your fights people and fight about things that are really important like first and second line guys who dont score and are lazy getting back on defense. compain about defensemen who are so timid they cant even get over 50 minitues in penalties for a season. it will be interesting who makes the team so lets get ready for a great season.

the truth is we are still in training camp . becasue of poor performance or injury or call ups or send downs, this team wont look the same around christmas. now is the time to look at the positives that are in camp. the negatives will take care of themselves without the armchair coaches pitching  a constant fit.  im looking forward to opening night and being able to see how this team comes together. ill compain about the guys who play terrible or just arent trying but im tired of the haters out there who pick on a weell respected player just cause he doesnt score twenty goals from a third line spot. hes an owner favorite and a fan favorite of the majority of people so get over it and try to be critical as i said before about the guys who dont act lilke they want to be here. eh?

20 teams lined up? There are only 8 teams in the SPHL.

Thanks, Chuckitt.  I support you 100%.  I am not necessarily a huge Schrock fan but I appreciate his work ethic and toughness. Huge mistake if we lose him. I am so sick and tired of hearing how horrible he is. Some of the folks on here just need to get a life. If they want him cut so badly, just don't throw your money away by going to games until he is gone. If it is that bad, then go cheer for Kzoo or Indy. He is here so get over it.  Go stick your thumbs in your mouths and act like the children you are.

We comment on the games and players, some just have to attack others for their opinions....; but if your a "real fan" it's allowed...

Please cut Schrock so that I can see what 20 teams would line up to sign an older, high priced, under talented, 7 shift a game, hustling forward.... That way I can be proven wrong on what he brings to the table...

Haters.... No one hates Schrock (I've never met him; but I've heard he does a lot for youth hockey...kudos), many just don't think he belongs anymore...

This is preseason, yes; but habits and traits are being seen with this team that were also present last season...

Why is no one defending Krug??? Lol

JR is correct and makes good points.  Chuckitt is a person who I totally respect.  But Chuckitt, I wish you'd name those players you are criticizing.  I'm not saying you are totally incorrect, but put names to your opinion.  Give us the chance to weigh your points logically.

Brett Smith stood tall for his teammates.  More than a few times.  Could play the game, too.  He's gone isn't he?  For older fans I would suggest Steve Fletcher.  Stood tall.  Protected his teammates.  Retired his number...but after he was traded from the Komets to Atlanta and returned back for formality.

Everything comes to an end.  This is professional sports.  This is a league where "veterans" are subjected to a perceived value.

Chuckitt, you mentioned twenty goals a season?  Nobody expects anything like that.  We do expect the K's to field the best team possible.  There is a division amongst fans in his value.  Throw the emotion away.  Probably a nicer player never lived. No one would argue that.

That's not the point.

This whole argument will be moot tomorrow.  He's going to make the team.  But with this much discussion and argument, whoever heard of a part time player with so much clamor?
