Congrats to the Komets on a great start to the season. So far they have been a much more exciting team to watch.
My concern is with special teams. We are in the bottom half in PP% and last in the league in PK%. Over the length of a season and especially in the playoffs, this will be a huge disadvantage. We have scored more goals than most teams which points to the fact that we have the talent.
The two biggest observations that I see are:
** Our opponents pressure out PP and we always seem to have difficulty just getting it set up on their zone
** We sit back very passively on the PK and allow our opponents to set up with ease and let them work the puck until they find an opening
This seems like a pretty glaring difference in approach and something that we should be able to fix.
Blake, any thoughts from the coach on this?
