Tailing the Komets

The roster situation

Just talked to General Manager David Franke. Forward Brett Beebe will be signing a contract and play tomorrow night. He's been playing with Pensacola of the SPHL and has six points in seven games there.

Kaleigh Schrock and C.J. Severyn will be coming off IR for Saturday's game. Right now the Komets do not know what they will do with the rest of the roster at that time.

The Komets are also not expecting to recieve any players from Lake Erie until after the weekend. There's a rumor that Sami Aittokallio is back, but that is not true, according to Franke.

Eric Levine will start at least one of the three games this weekend.

Don't forget, if you are going to Kalamazoo for Friday's game, it does not start at 7:30 p.m. as listed on the pocket schedule. It has been moved to 5 p.m. because of Black Friday. Hopefully that will help all of us driving across 94.

Everybody have a GREAT Thanksgiving tomorrow and God Bless You and your families.

So, tell me Mr. Franke, why Sami was walking around in his jersey at Tip-A-Komet last night?

I dont know about anyone else but I really enjoy watching Garret Meurs play. You can see lot of talent.  Very good hands ( Not Chinner or Lenny hands). When he was on a line with ReidPetryk its seemed that they were shooting too early or too late.  Might be the tempo of the game verses the Ontario Hockey league. This kid will get a groove going and watch out. He just needs to keep it simple and put on a line with a good corner man. he will start to bury it.  Sid had a very late start last year also. I see some similarities with both players.

I don't know, ZAnderson, I've heard varying reports that it was him and then it wasn't him, so that's why I asked and that's the answer I was given. Maybe, if it was him, he came back to pick up his stuff and just hung out with the guys. Who knows?

I agree with you RG2, Meurs is definitely growing on me as he has settled down.

Sami was not walking around at tip a Komet last night. That was Eric Levine wearing the wrong jersey. They did that last year too, but when they realized they had the wrong jersey they went to Komet Kuarters and grabbed a blank one. I'm not saying Sami is not in town, I don't know that. But I do know the "Sami" in question is actually Levine.

Thank you Blake.  Also, I like Meurs speed and his forechecking.  He does a pretty good job of pinning the d in the corner and keeping the puck in the zone.

I've been wondering about the situation with Pistilli.  Norfolk has returned two forwards back to their ECHL teams this week (one to Cincinnati and one to Utah).

Heard's situation is a little more vague. As Fort Wayne is on the lowest rung of the Avalanche totem pole, I've been thinking about the progress of the three forwards hurt (which caused the "domino effect" of players getting called away from their teams).

Lacasse is put on IR lowering the number of defensemen to six.

Chuckitt, my friend, I loved your post regarding your "liberal" friend.  Please remember in the future that they don't want to be called "to the left" or "liberal".  They want to be called "progressives".  It's funny, but I suppose psychologically it sounds better.

Anyway, regardless of the political spectrum each finds itself belonging to, perhaps we can agree to wish and hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.

Lacasse is on reserve not IR, meaning he can come off at any moment.

Hey Blake, Meur Scores!!   hard work on that goal too. I think we will see many more soon, unfortunatly, thats what gets him heading back to Cleveland.
