It's been a long time since I've seen a pre-game discussion(s) like last night. Very clear to me that Evansville thinks way too highly of themselves...and the Komets answered with fists, goals, and a win. I guess a lot of the questions I posted Saturday were answered during that game! What an atmosphere! What a game!!
What a response to the loss Friday night.
Now I know when the last Komet "hat trick" took place. It was at 16:01 of the third period by Embach. Shawn Szydlowski also had a "Gordie Howe hat trick" (goal, assist, and a fight)! And speaking of Szydlowski (not known for rough stuff)...after he accepted Mr. Harvey's invitation to "dance", I would suggest that he should be given tremendous consideration for the "True Komet" award at the end of the season. Congrtaulations to Cody Sol for stepping up and disposing of Lepine.
So, at 17:13 of the third period, Frazee scores the fifth Komet goal (his 10th). Here is what happened as the goal light dimmed behind the Evansville net: The Komets had scored their fifth goal of the evening, Embach had scored a "hat trick", Szydlowski had a "Gordie Howe" hat trick, the Komets put up two more points in the standings, and they had answered the IceMen defiantly by playing the game dictated by Evansville's goonery.
Oh yes. There was an Evansville player writhing in pain on the ice.
That game ran the gamut for action. If you missed it, you really missed something neat!!

To Who Suz and Alan, amen brothers. Spot on both posts. On a side note I still think Petryck can bust out and start scoring. Kid needs to have Shaffy give him a russian anti-jinx chant. Loosen the pressure on his stick. Change the color of his tape. Put him on the left side with Crowder( when he gets back in line up) and Pistilli on the right.

I believe the reason attendance is down this year is because the cost of tickets and concessions are to high for principled population.

if people in our conservative town think prices are too hight then they would never like living in a big market,as going to an nhl or an mlb game is like spending a paycheck! need to keep all in perspective! still a good valu for good entertainment in our size community.

Hockey Fan.. I am sorry tix are too expensive for you. I really am. There are coupons in the paper for 8 bucks and Marathon has 2 for 1 tix for Friday games I believe. The last few years I felt I was getting ripped off big time. This year, I do feel I am getting my money's worth. Hope you can make a game or two down the road....

Hockey Fan, what do you mean by "principled" population??
I would love an explanation.
Merely the fact that you read and contribute to the blog tells me that you are interested in the team, and the sport of hockey. I'm not going to question your choices. (If the game has gotten too expensive to enjoy, then fine, that's your prerogative.) But tell me why my "principles" are low for enjoying hockey and the things that come with it.
If the fighting is your reason, then I would suggest that "hockey" has done more to eliminate it than any other sport. Do you feel the same way about basketball? About football? About baseball? About soccer?
After the BYU-Memphis bowl game, there was a brawl. During the New York Knicks -Washington game there was a confrontation that resulted in the ejection of a player ( on Christmas Day). Guess that "peace on earth, good will to men" stuff went for naught. For the life of me, I don't recall riots in the stands like I see at least once a year from soccer...and baseball isn't immune, neither. More than once a bat has been flung at a pitcher.
If prices are keeping you away, that's one thing. But to try to suggest that those who attend and enjoy the game don't share the same "principles" as you, smacks of being aloof.

I only go to games when i can get free or discounted tickets. Financially I could get season tickets but I choose not to because I feel that they are overpriced and the money could be better spent elsewhere. Some people don't care that they are being ripped off because they can afford it. I do care.

#1 Fan is exactly right. According to the Lake Erie transaction page Will has been assigned to the Komets. Everything seems to change in the ECHL, and there is nothing to say how long he will be here, but now I feel as if the Komets have a chance when Nagle is not playing. According to the NHL Network, Colorado also sent a forward back to Lake Erie and I'm wondering if/how that may affect the Komets.
Without breaking any HIPPA laws, I'd like to know how Crowder is doing, how Tam's surgery went, and if they are on schedule for a return to the lineup.
By the way, if you remember Mike Sgroi, you may be interested in the fact that he just signed with Orlando. Sgroi has been around and has played against the Komets in a couple of leagues. Whenever he retires, I think instead of a banner or award, it would be nice if his team would name a penalty box after him in his honor.

The journal didn't "screw theirs up" they just made it so you can't post anonymously, which yes I understand the irony in my statement since I choose to post anonymously here. But I do find it funny that even "Alan" and the kid who sits next to the penalty box has chosen to not reveal themselves, or their facebook account through ice chips. I for one like their changes.

Anonymous, the reason I'm not posting on Justin's blog is that I do not have a "facebook" account. When he first made the change, I tried.
So the part of not "revealing" myself is moot. (Besides, there have been plenty of times I've ended posts with my name and even encouraged people to look up my telephone number and call).
Blake has insinuated that the same change may take place on this blog also. If it does, then I guess I will be done here, too.
Justin mentioned that he is unconcerned with the number of comments on his blog, but only concerned with the number of "hits" the blog receives. The rationale behind some of that escapes me. Sure I understand that everytime you "go" there it counts as a "hit", but once I've read whatever the article says I only go back to update on any comments left. I don't go back to re-read the article. (He isn't that interesting). So as reading it originally counts as one hit, I may go back three or four times to check on the comments. Thus the number of hits is increased.

This blog is more about the quality articles and less about the blogger posts/replies to generate hits.
The other blog is more about creating controversy amongst the bloggers to generate hits and less about the articles.
It really says alot about their journalistic abilities, doesnt it.

Had to comment. I do not have a facebook account for many reasons but LOVE to read everyones comments. I have been a STH for 30 years & love this team. I hope you continue to keep this blog going but if not, we all lose. I know I am not much in the tech world but will soon have to depend on the internet to get my news. We should all be proud of this team - I am. I sat next to an Indy fan the other night & he mentioned how luckey we are to have this much coverage & he even saw a billboard while on the way here. GO KOMETS! Thanks Blake.
