So sad to hear and read this news.

Burton was a terrific player.

The Komets "family" has lost another of its great links to the past.

Myself, along with my family, wish to extend our sympathies to the Burton family.

Such a quality human being gone way to soon. One of the all time great Komets.

May he RIP. Prayers for his family.

One of the nicest & most influencial hockey coaches I have ever had the privilege of skating for. My heart is with his wife and family.

Sad to hear the news of Jim Burton's passing. I remember watching him play in the 80's. A real good player.

Truly, the best skating D-man the Ks have ever had. You could see how growing up with #99 shaped his game and thoughts. I played many rounds of golf with Jim and his wife both were a joy  to be around. RIP Jim and my prayers are with his family.

One of my all-time favorite defenseman. In fact, my friends and I were just talking about him at the last home game when we saw Wheeling had a guy named Burton. Said he was no Jimmy Burton! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. A sad day in Kometland indeed,
