I wonder if he said something after being benched...

Frazee was benched Wheeling cuz of stupid penalty.. Have to assume he didn't like it so he was removed from the squad. Could be wrong, just speculation,

I think it has more to do with needing a natural center, which I've been saying for weeks. With Crowder hurt and Faille called up, they didn't have one in the lineup and it was hurting them on face-offs particularly. They've kind of just been filling in there. Now if they get Crowder back soon, and Faille and Severyn has done well there, suddenly you have lots of options that they haven't had for the last month. I like the move because it's being aggressive up the middle. They've got to get back to where Pistilli can play wing all the time where he's twice as dangerous. This allows them to do that.

One has to assume something happened during the Wheeling trip. And if it did, then we can assume that everything is not so happy- go- lucky in the lockerroom.
I wasn't sure about Frazee when he was signed in the off season (never know how a CHL player would equate in the ECHL) but I became a big fan of his.
I'm sorry to see him go and wish him good luck. I'm also anxious to watch Matt Lowry fit in with the K's. Also looking forward to watching Brock Higgs.
When will Faille return?

Sorry Blake but that ain't it..Frazee was the best guy in the face off circle we had. Komets are losers in this deal I believe. Big pickup for eville who gained production and shipped out a little bit of production.

Your "logic" makes no sense considering Lowry has better numbers on a much worse team. Believe what you want.

Blake , im sure there is a good story with an interview of Lowry going from a last place team to a first place team. Im sure Lowry is driving faster to Fort Wayne then Frazee is driving to Evansville. There is your angle. I agree with your assessment of strength in the middle and at the very least getting players back to their comfortable position. BUT... Would this also have anything to do with the salary cap and knowing who is coming back? # of pro games status etc. I liked Frazee also. Cannot coach size. I would never expect a team to trade a player for a bad penalty. That would be silly. They all take more then one thru the year.
From what I remember watching Evansville, Lowry should be a good replacement.

If your team needs a center, and you deal for a center, why would you trade a center? That's the "logic" I'm trying to wrap my thoughts around. Something just doesn't square up here that can be explained by being a "natural" center or not. By the way, Frazee was listed as a center even during the exhibition games.
Plus being a "healthy" scratch Saturday, then being traded either is a result of the teams talking and getting serious about a trade, or an attitude developed after the game. (It makes for a great conspiracy theory).
It's interesting to read the comments of komet fans on the trade. At about 1:15pm a friend called me asking what I thought about the trade. (I thought he was referring to Higgs). I had no idea that Frazee had been traded. One thing that strikes me about that conversation was, in the middle of it, he told me that the initial reaction from Evansville fans was dismay. That they thought the Komets had gotten the better of it.
I'm not sure why Texas is hanging on to Faille. Sounds as if the Detroit goaltender may be back in 2 weeks. That'll make things interesting with Nagle.
The other beat writer reported that Graham said that Schrock or Crowder, or both, or neither may dress for Friday's game. I'm trying to wrap my head around that one, too. I mean isn't that kind of obvious? Both? One or the other, or neither? Can't be wrong about that.

looked up their January stats: Frazee Jan 8 games 1 assist and minus 3 10 PIMs 14 shots
Lowry Jan. 12 games three goals and seven points, 11 PIMs minus 5 23 shots
It's a wash. Neither was producing for their teams so they got traded. Lowry is grittier by comparison, at least stats-wise if you look at individual games. Maybe each needs a change of scenery.

Another component everyone is missing here is Lowry can play on the penalty kill. That's the difference in the center for center trade. Otherwise I would be scratching my head as well.

Hawks, why the hostile tone?
Yes, I was hoping for a trade. And I was hoping that the trade wouldn't be one that included a roster member, but cash. I thought the Higgs trade accomplished it.
I never dreamed that another trade, center for center, was taking place. I think most Komet followers were thinking if a trade took place it would entail a Komet defenseman for a forward.
This one came out of nowhere for most of us. I'm looking forward to watching the K's and their new players this weekend.
As for me being happy about the trade(s), well time will tell. I am glad the Franke's are working to improve their roster. As for me "getting over myself", there isn't any part of that involved with these comments, and if you perceive them to be, then that's a "you" problem.
