Rookie center Eric Faille was released by the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League on Monday and will be in the lineup on Wednesday at Indy. After scoring 16 goals and 32 points in 32 games with the Komets, Faille scored two goals and six points in 21 games with Texas.

Wow, tremendous news. 16 goals, 16 assists and a +18 in 32 games.
But I'm not going to count on anything. It's still real early in the week and lots of teams may call him up.
It's been so long, does anyone remember who his linemates were?
Just for some fun, how would you set up the Komet lines with Faille returning? I'm pretty sure I'd keep Clarke centering between Szdlowski and Embach. I think I'd keep Perlini between Pistilli and Ouellet. So that leaves a line with either Faille or Lowry centering between Rizk, Thomas, Severyn, and Lincoln. (or a whole lot of combinations). Lowry has done so well on faceoffs that I'd almost have to keep him at center.
No wrong answer here, just curious to hear other opinions.
Hard to figure this one out. It's good to see him returning. So the question now is, who goes, who stays? Do they play the revolving reserve game depending on team being played? Will another AHL team in contension decide to pluck him away? Will be an interesting next few days!
so what happens when Heard, Meurs, Petryk and Baupre show up looking fro some ice time?
Pretty sure I said this like a month ago. His PTO was up today. Now if Crowder can get healthy this team is scary. I just hope he doesn't have AHL let down from coming back down.
My lines with the obvious Schrock inclusion cause we all know he isn't getting scratched(and shouldn't be because he worked his tail off this weekend) and assuming Severyn comes off the IR. Daniels has been playing terrible lately, almost Jace Coyle bad.
Embach-Szyd-Faille
Perlini-Clarke-Pistilli
Lowry-Severyn-Risk
Schrock
Lacasse-Martin
Leach-Sol
Barteaux-Tam
Perlini between Pistilli and Ouellet
I hope this happens!!! I would would love to see the OPP line!
Interesting comments. .what happens if Nagle comes back?
One other thing. .I would keep Daniels and sit Barteaux..
Yoc can set Lacaase,Barteaux, or Sol!! Daniels is +36, second on the team in assist
Not sure about anyone else but I would love to see Faille and Thomas on the ice together. Speed kills.
Just realized Utica Comets r affiliate of Kzoo..politics?
Re: the Lake Erie "Komets" - put Heard in the lineup right away - he was a man among boys while he was here. If early Meurs is here, play him as well. Later (psycho) Meurs, meh. Leave Petryk out, if we can. Don't remember enough about Beaupre to have an opinion.
Interesting ideas from everyone.
Today, with Faille back in town, the Komets have 13 forwards. Assuming no one gets called up and the injured (Crowder and Severyn) return, there will some decisions to be made. Looking ahead I would not want Petryk or Meurs from Lake Erie. ( I feel we have talented forwards who will miss the playoffs anyway). I would want Heard, however, and that will just make the situation worse for someone.
As far as the defense goes, I would take Beaupre and drop Barteaux. Probably another would have to go also.
If Nagle is returned, I would keep all three goaltenders. Doing that would also mean more pressure on the roster in terms of the quantity of skaters.
Of course this is just imaginary. The idea that the roster will be intact for such decisions to be made is most likely fantasy...but if everything worked out, there would still be salary cap considerations, and veteran limits.
It just seems to me that everything being equal, these four forwards could be on the "bubble"; Schrock, Severyn, Perlini and Thomas. Would they have the "guts" to actually not dress Schrock?? What is your opinion?
Alan, nothing you said is "imaginary". It could all come true and probably will. Click your heals twice. Who I want to hear from is Slide rule, graph and chart man.
Sorry, Slide-rule, Graph and chart person. It could be a woman.
Severan..Perlini..and Thomas..never Schrock...Rizk...maybe even Clarke..agree with bringing Heard back...imo
