Just a great, great game by Guggenberger. (When was the last time a Komet player had four "G's" in his last name??)
I think some others played very well and deserve some kudos. Tam was outstanding, hitting everything in sight. If one of his goals was to test his shoulder, it seems he passed the test with flying colors! I thought Lowry played a very good game also. Maybe one of his best since coming here. I thought Lacasse played a nice game also.
The defense played with an "attitude". It was nice to see. Sol was held out for a few shifts at the end. Did he find himself in Gary's doghouse?
I was watching Will during warmups and he looked OK. I think I would start him tonight and then Guggenberger on Sunday. I think I would give Tam the night off and play him at home tomorrow. I'm wondering about Szydlowski. I wouldn't play him tonight, and if the Komets win tonight, I wouldn't play him on Sunday. If they lose and he's OK, then I might feel like he needs to be in there. Obviously everything depends on his health.
I think the Komets defense, as a whole, has to be better than Gwinnett. I bet Guggenberger is appreciative (and he's got to love the fact that he beat Toledo after giving up nine goals to them in that game while with the Gladiators).
I've watched a lot of Komet hockey games in my life. I can't remember ever seeing one team get called for six penalties in a row.
But I bet Gwinnett's water is better. (Welcome to Fort Wayne. Please don't drink the water).
