Komets fall into first-place tie

It was hard not to notice their lack of success passing the puck.  I'm not saying that passes weren't completed and I'm not talking about the close in type of passes, but rather the breakout and second pass as they enter the attacking zone.  Nothing was crisp, nothing was tape on tape, but rather a "break the  momentum" by giving the defenders a chance to "get set" bunch of passes.  I think passes have generally been a weakness all year but get hidden a little by the overall record the Komets enjoy.

The Komets presently have the strongest roster they've had in a long time.  But now they are tied with Toledo, and the Walleye should be their only concern now.  Win the division, let the conference and league titles fade from their worries.  Things will take care of themselves as long as they win.

Shots on goal are becoming a little bit of a joke.  Most are from out on the perimiter (even Leach's overtime winner was from 40 ft out).  I'd really like to see them shoot the puck from 20ft or closer and have the other two forwards crash the net instead of trying to make the perfect pass with space always being crowded.

Oh, and one other thought, I wish Graham would set his lines and keep them together (Al Sims always seemed to mix his lines at this time of the season and sometimes it worked, sometimes it just made everyone look confused).

Looking forward to the game today.

Last night we made the same mistake we made all playoffs long against Madore last year.  You simply can't beat him playing euro league hockey.  You gotta get bodies between the dots and get screens on him or else he will gobble everything up and with the except of Schrock(and kudos to him) nobody on this team is enough of a grinder to do it.  I think Graham shook up the lines to try to get a guy that gets to the front on every line, but if everybody doesn't commit to the plan, you won't beat good goaltending.  We outshot them yes, but Madore saw every shot but probably 2, and 1 beat him.

Severyn eligible to come off IR today.

Wondering whether Coach Graham will sit Barteaux.  I think I would. (Originally it was reported that Tam would play two games this weekend.  Today would make three). If possible I'd play Tam and in Barteaux's place  I'd play Krug.  Komets need someone to bang bodies and make other teams a little more aware.  Unless he's hurting a little, it has to be Will's turn.

I agree Zanderson84.  I guess my point is to get pucks to the net and get bodies to bang and pick up rebounds.  Kind of like Rizk did getting his own rebound against Conway Friday night.

Which Komet team will play tonight? Jekyll or Hyde?
