I wasn't at all surprised that the K's released Harrison. I am kind of disappointed that Quaile has been let go. I thought that he was solid and it got so that I was never concerned when he was on the ice.
Justin Daniels (brother of Komet Drew Daniels, I believe) was traded from Elmira to Toledo.
Colorado may be in a little bit of a goaltender quandry. Due to injuries they called up Calvin Pickard from Lake Erie and he started last night against the Kings. He gave up 3 goals (and was pulled) before the end of the 1st period. Berra replaced him. It seems to me that even if Will hadn't got injured the Avs would have called him up to Lake Erie. Maybe its just because of the "domino" effect, but I can't remember a time when so many goaltenders have gotten hurt.
Without knowing the extent of Will's injury, and even if he can come back soon, the Avs and the Monsters are way higher on the pecking order. Maybe Murdock is the "real" deal. We're going to find out because without Will and without Nagle, the Komets play 4 games in 5 nights for the next two weeks. Pretty tough task for a young goaltender.
Franke is in a tough place. No one knows better than he how important goaltending is. A call to Utica may give him some info on the prospects of Nagle returning, but its a different organization which cares little about Fort Wayne's situation. His own "family" (Avs and Monsters) are showing little likelihood of making the playoffs. Can he gamble that he'll get someone from them after they are eliminated?
The only thing that I'm sure of is that Larkin Saalfrank is not the answer. Trading deadline is 3pm tomorrow. Maybe it would be better to claim someone (Wyer) off waivers. With Tam coming back soon they will be loaded with defensemen. With Crowder (?) coming back and with Severyn they will have an abundance of forwards. Do they trade a vet to get back to the vet limit?
This is going to be an interesting week for the K's.
Toledo's coach Lalonde pulled the trigger trading Luciani to get some more defense. He seems to have pushed the right buttons so far. The are averaging 4.05 goals for and 2.62 goals against.

Alan, as long as we out-score the other team, it makes no diffrence who is in net. ..... I know, that was kinda Yogi Berra-ish. Teams tend to play better when they protect the goalie instead of relying on him. By this I mean they force the other team to the outside and play better defence. You tend not to back check as hard when you have a better goalie. Every time the komets used a new guy this year, he has a great first game for the most part. I expect nothing to change.

RG2, I totally agree with you for tonight's game. But with 8 games in the next 12 days, there is no way I want to go through that stretch with having to rely on an "A" goaltender and an emergency goaltender...and as much as I love have scoring (snipers), you will win most games with defense from the forwards on back to the goal line.
I don't have the foggiest whether the K's have done any roster retooling today. I'm leary of Nagle being sent back. I do think Faille will be sent back eventually as I don't see Dallas making the playoffs, thereby sending some players down to Texas.
My prediction is that David Franke will have another goaltender on the Fort Wayne roster before Friday's game.

Yes Murdoch is not good tonight and is leaving the top of the net wide open but our D is just standing around and watching the puck. Make a play dang it!!!

Just in case nagle isn't back komets must make trade for a goalie tomorrow...Murdock should be sent back...need a solid backup...

Nagle continues to get world class door opening and door closing experience.
All the call-ups...and he's appeared in only FOUR (1-2-3-4)...games.
Why is Szyd sitting out tonight? Hope it's not because he's leaving tomorrow....
