I'd just love to witness the Komets win the Kelly Cup this year. Maybe I missed it on the list and maybe its too obvious, but there is one reason in particular that motivates me to include it.
That reason is that if they win the championship, it would mean they have won in every league they have competed in. The original IHL, the UHL, in the IHL2, the Central League , and finally the ECHL.
They would be able to re-raise those championship banners along with the new one.
Imagine what an opening night that would be!

Blake, how good is your memory??? Or do you just research in every waking moment (and sleeping as well)? That is a great list. I'm not sure what to add to that. It seems like the Komets have been around for so long there is not much left they haven't done.
Alan, that is a great point! A cup in every league would be impressive...untill it would make the "Why not us in the AHL!" debate start back up...
The only item I would like to add would be a player to start the year with the Komets and make it all the way to the NHL in the same season. I know it would be impressive in this day and age. I know it happened in the IHL, not sure who but I am sure someone will post it, but to jump two leauges now would be a feat!

Thats an impressive list Blake. I would like to see a repeat of the undefeated playoff run when Pokey Reddick was so spectacular.
The most IMPORTANT thing I read in the article was the generosity of the Komet fans. $150000 given so far this season and over $500000 in end of year auction money!!! That has to just make yoiu proud to live in or around Fort Wayne and know and associate with some of these good people. It really does not matter what we each think of the teams performance or whether we agree or disagree with someones thoughts when you look at the big picture which is HELPING others!
Go KOMETS and Thank you GREAT Komet Fans!!!

How about Colin Chin's natural hat trick in a 3-1 win playoff win over Orlando? (I'm thinking 97-98 maybe?)
Komets were all over them the whole game but losing 1-0. He scored two goals — one of his patented roof shots, and the other on a deflection of a pass out of the corner — less than a minute apart to give the K's the lead.
He finished it with an empty-netter on a bumper pool shot, banked perfectly off the boards from the defensive zone and all the way down the ice.

HOSS, The player that comes to my mind that went from the Komets to the NHL was John Ferguson with the Montreal Canadians. I want to say 1959-60 but Blake would know for sure.

Thanks DS.
I did think of one thing that would be pretty cool to hear. What if Doc came back to call a game with Chase. I am sure all the haters would not like Chase talking over Doc, but man would that be fun! The student calling a game with his teacher.

Last one I can think of is Kevin Weekes in 1998. Different world then.
How did I forget that? I remember how weird it was to listen to it while watching it live. Sorry...two more days of crazy kids till spring break!

I would like to see the son or grandson etc of one the Komets come back and wear Dad's or Granddads number (even if it's one of those hanging high in the Coliseum) and actually be able to fill his shoes, uh.....skates

How about getting in a fight in front of a former president ? Check it off. Andy bezeau in front of first president bush in Houston mid late 90's. Pres bush was sitting rinkside with his granddaughter. I'm sure who ever Andy fought could not pass up that opportunity

I have a funny story about meeting Bob (not knowing who he was) while my wife was wearing Bobby's Army Jersey to a PH game. Let's just say Bob likes to joke and he can take it to the edge before letting on...Great guy, after I almost took a swing at him!
