None of this is any good.

Szydlowski misses his first game back with an ankle injury.  Day-to-day they say.  With the Komets luck it's probably a "high ankle sprain" like Crowder.  Did he take a shot off of it in practice?  Some things can be revealed without giving out any secrets.

Murdock gives up 6 goals on 16 shots.  "Not his fault" players say.  Hey, I got news for you.  Six goals on sixteen shots wouldn't be all that good even in a shootout.

Lincoln scores his first goal in 29 games.  Defensemen score two goals...and the K's 4 goals.  With all of that odd stuff, they still manage to lose by 4.

So what do you do?  Well goaltending has become the #1 priority.  Even if Will is well (that sounds funny doesn't it?), I would suspect that Lake Erie might want him back (and send back the Quad City goalie they needed because of all the affiliated teams goalie issues).  If he isn't well, then they still are in trouble.

The Komets need a band-aid fast.  Even with a trade it would be hard to depend on someone (good enough to make a difference) before Friday and the rest of the weekend.

This isn't an easy problem.  And it has been made even harder with the trade deadline approaching so soon (3pm today).  But it could be manageable.  First you have to realize that Murdock is not the answer.  That demands some kind of change.  (They are saying Will can be ready for Friday (but he's going to wear a brace during practice).  That doesn't sound good and even if he gets by Friday, who's going to spell him?

This team has lots of assets.  None of them showed up last night.

David Franke has some tough decisions to make.  The problems are he doesn't have a lot of time, he can't control injuries and call-ups, and teams are going to try "hold him up" because he isn't dealing from strength here, he's dealing from "need".

I want him to try his best and remember the clause.

Thanks Kometfan29.

Yes, I heard that also.  But I've also heard he would wear a brace in practice today.  So my questions are these;  how much condidence do you have in him, knowing he's not 100%.  Also, how does Lake Erie react?  I think, without Will getting injured, that Lake Erie would've called him up when they lost Pickard to Colorado.  As it was they called up one of Quad City's netminders.

If he is a little bit "tender", do you still want Murdock as your backup?

I've got to admit that I'm a little uneasy about it all, right now.

Only the K's know the true answer, but wow, the "cliff" is getting close and I'm afraid the K's may be dangling close to the edge.
