2 bad..would have liked 2 c Wheeling. .here we go..best of luck K's!
Komets can do this!
I went to game #7 in Toledo. Both goaltenders were standing on their heads. Toledo was the better skating team, no question. Toledo had lots and two on one and three on two rushes. Wheeling was the more physical team. They were trying to slow down the Walleye. I know they said the attendance was 3,500 but I have some very serious doubts. I would say it was closer to 2,000/2,200. The group I was with all agreed we can beat Toledo. I think it may take six games. Our defense is much better than Wheelings. WE must stay out of the penalty box.
The only power play Wheeling had was in Over-time and Toledo scored shorthanded. Pretty goal.
Bring on the Mercuys I mean Blades I mean Hornets I mean Goaldiggers oh I mean Walleye! How many names does a team need :) This should be a great series with both teams having most of their good players back. Funny thing about that attendance figure in Toledo...I thought Fort Wayne was the only one that inflated the numbers?? I guess not.
Interesting observation - in the 7 games against the Walleye this season, Toledo was 6-for-32 on the power play, but all 6 of those came in the first two games (6/13), both Walleye blowouts. Since then, they were 0 for 16. The Komets were 4-for-30 for the series. So, really not much of a disparity. Doesn't mean the K's don't have to avoid needless penalties, though.
