It sounds silly but a Komet win tonight would be huge to get us to 1st place. If Kzoo doesn't get the two points tonight, they will fight like crazy to pick up points in their last two game vs. Toledo. If they win tonight (which I know would clinch second for us, unless it is an OT loss) they might clinch before their last game and maybe rest some guys giving Toledo a better chance of winning one of the two against them. IN other words, lets just win both games to put all the pressure we can on the Walleye! It should be a fun weekend of scoreboard watching!!!

Answers?  This is the ECHL.

Nothing comes easy for ANY team, playoff bound or not.  For instance.  Does anyone really know their playoff roster?  No.  Heck, even the Komets have no idea who will be on the roster. (And ECHL affiliates will become stronger, maybe even strong enough to win it all, as AHL teams get eliminated).  Just ask Florida a couple years back and Cincinnati just last season going to the finals.

Does Crowder come back fit?  Will Pistilli return for the first week of playoffs?  When do the Lake Erie guys show up?  With the games dwindling down, Coach Graham has given a lot of ice time to players to try to convince him they are worth protecting.  My opinion is, of the forwards, and discounting the "money line", not one has been outstanding, nor even standing out.  I find myself thinking that Rizk and Clarke are on the bubble.  Others may be, too.

I doubt anyone on here knows the "games lost by injuries or callups" for the other division teams.  We remember the Komets being weakened by players lost because were following them.  Toledo is the least penalized team (north div).   But even those stats can be thrown out because each team begins anew, many with entirely different lineups.

If the Komets win tonight, look for them to rest (protect) some guys for tomorrow night.  If Toledo loses tonight, and the Komets win, look for the best lineup Coach Graham can dress tomorrow night.

The things I'd like to see would be for Perlini to get his 20th goal this weekend, and for the Franke's to, somehow, put Guggenberger in the position for him to be "protected" for next year.

Other than that, who knows?  Answers may be more readily available when the playoff rosters are set next week.

Well they just got "softer" on the Blue Line cutting Krug don't understand that move unless it was necessary to make room for guys from the AHL being sent down.

Yeah, I was surprised about the Krug thing, but I think their two reserve spots are full (Pistilli, Schrock) so they may not have had any choice.  Sounds like they are pretty confindent that help is coming from Lake Erie

Also, Alan, the roster is the roster.  Unless either Pistilli or Schrock becomes available, they have 16 healthy skaters and two healthy goaltenders.  So whether Toledo cooperates or not, the same guys are gonna play unless somebody else gets hurt tonight.

Krug cut?? I thought the Komets would/should carry 8 d-men. Beaupre is the only other eligible unless they have a college or CHL(canadian Hockey league comprising WHL, OHL and QMJHL) kid in the wings( Example Hodgeman)   or... where is Barteaux? I did not see him on waivers.   LEM is not out of it yet.

Again, I have really one question for any of the players being sent from LEM-  what is their motivation?

also- good to hear from you Alan.

Let the only defenseman that will hit someone entering the zone, to keep Lacasse who more times than not misses them trying use a hip check is wrong.  The defense just got weaker for sure.

So a vetran had to go should have been Schrock but we all know that would never hapen. Our defence just got weaker at the wrong time.

I did'nt think there was a limitation to veterans on the roster.  I was under the impression that you can only dress a maximum of four at a time. The team is swimming in forwards. Good D men are hard to come by.

They let go the only defenceman (Krug) who wasn't afraid to hit somebody to keep a player ( we all know who that is) who is worthless this year. All I can say is he better step it up and play a lot better or the fans are going to start booing him. Local player or not, he should have been cut.
