Colorado is buying time to affiliate with another team, probably Allen, which is why it is taking so long.

Allen makes good logic 4 hours down the road to San Antonio. Colorado is jerking the Komets around big time.

Hard to argue with the premise of either Bruce's and OldGuys posts. Colorado has had plenty of time and I'd say the Franke's have gone far beyond the point of patience.
Time to hook up with whatever is the best available for the Komets. If Colorado decides they still want the Komets (which I highly doubt), let them sit with the problem.
I know that the K's didn't protect Guggenberger. I get that. Most likely they are going to make a very strong attempt to sign Nagle. I'm thinking that they will look for a goaltender from (whoever) their affiliate is. But folks, I hope they make a big effort at bringing Guggenberger in. He's been successful and could bring roster stability to that position. Is he playing in Austrailia as a way of strengthening, maybe even rehabing his broken ankle, and refreshing his skills?
No one feels good about losing a player. But I'd say that trading Barteaux's rights to Gwinnett is about as neutral as I could feel about the situation.
"No surprises", Franke says regarding the 20-man group. The front office has done what they need to do...and getting players signed early keeps that 8 player list easier. Frankly, looking over the roster, I count only about eleven (and only two veterans) that I'd be interested in. (One goaltender, five forwards, five defensemen).
Everything would become more clear with an affiliation. The Komets and the Avalanche seemed to have a pretty good working agreement and understanding of the Komets' (Frankes) desire to have their share of control over their roster. But each day without an announcement of an extension makes that chance less likely and considerably more dim.
I'm hoping that the K's get younger up front. I would be pleased with the signing of Kucera on defense.

When Guggenberg didnt appear on the season ending roster that pretty much meant he is'nt coming back.

Dean Ouellet will be back.
Did Guggenberger come to us with a broken ankle? If not, how and when did he break it here?
