After one period on a goal by Gabriel Beaupre from the left point that Toledo goaltender Neil Conway never saw coming. When in doubt, put it on the net. Eric Faille gets the assist.

Roman Will for the Komets and Neil Conway for the Walleye in nets. Puck seems to be sliding OK. My guess is they'll just stay out on the ice after warm-ups.
Snow is coming down in sheets, but they can play through this. The Zamboni driver deserves combat pay. He'll turn circles in his sleep. They are scraping off the glass so fans can see inside the rink. And here comes the Zamboni back again. My guess is they have delayed things again because they should have been on the ice by now if they were going to start at 5 p.m. Again, nothing official from the Walleye, though. Lack of communication with all this is past hilarious.
Won't have to worry about four Komets breaking their skate blades during warm-ups, water dripping down the back of their skates or the puck rolling all over the place. The ice looks fantastic. Watching a kids game now from the Sixth Floor of the bookstore depository, and every thing looks normal. Hope they can get a decent crowd.
With all this travel, it feels like a playoff series. Let's hope both teams can provide us with a playoff-like performance.
I'll try to post some here, but first I need somebody to come squeegee my Book Depository Windows, and for the internet to stay up.
And right now, there are no plans to postpone or cancel either game. The Komets Legends are getting dressed right now. Looked like Doug Teskey was going to play for Fort Wayne.
Talked to the referees from the college game that was played earlier today (BG 2, RM 2). They said the ice was quite pebblely but everyone made the best of it. Here's a fantastic question no one has asked yet: How are the pro players going to be able to play in this using visors?
They are playing the college game in Toledo and the puck seems to be moving ok, but there are lots of reports of ice-covered roads and even roads being closed because of accidents. Remember, slow and steady wins the race if you are driving over.
From a Komets release:
The Komets announced Friday that goaltender Pat Nagle has been loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Also, forward Phil Bushbacher has agreed to terms and has been added to the Fort Wayne lineup.
