Komets win 3-2

One night after one of their worst defensive performances of the season, the Fort Wayne Komets came back with a much stronger effort. The Komets protected a one-goal lead for 33 minutes Wednesday night in a 3-2 win at Dayton.

``We played really well defensively tonight,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``We we really focused again our our defense and we completely shut them down in the third period.''

On Mac's game misconduct

It's under Rule 47, Any player who deliberately removes his elbow pads or shoulder pads prior to an altercation shall be fined $100 for the first offense, $200 for the second and $500 for the third. He shall also receive a game misconduct under rule 47 and such misconducts shall be added to the player's accumulatoin.

The struggles continue

Komets lose 4-1 to Flint

Flint goaltender Rob Nolan had a 6-8-1 record going into Sunday's game against the Fort Wayne Komets, but he showed why he is one of the International Hockey League's top goaltenders by making 35 saves in a 4-1 win.

``Nolan is for real,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``He's one of the top goalies in the league. They played well and got great goaltending.''

Komets blast Muskegon 7-2

After struggling through the first 24 games of the season to find goals, the Fort Wayne Komets pounded the Muskegon Lumberjacks with a season-high in a 7-2 win on Saturday night.

The Komets scored four goals during the first period while holding the Lumberjacks to only three shots. The Komets pushed the lead to 6-0 before the game was half over, ruining the night for a crowd of 3,875 at L.C. Walker Arena.
