* Tab Lardner will be filling Derek Patrosso's spot on the wing with the line of Brandon Naurato and Neil Musselwhite. Lardner said he's played only a little with Naurato before.
* Patrosso and Danko Mironovic won't start riding the bike until this weekend at the earliest because of concussions. If they have headaches after they ride for the first time, they'll sit out another week at least.
* Konstantin Shafranov started working with the forwards on ice on Monday, but he actually gave some of the players a few tips before last weekend's games.
``I know him pretty well from playing with him for two years,'' Mathieu Curadeau said. ``I think the best part for me about Shaffy is he remembers me from two years ago and he's seeing stuff that I'm not doing that I used to. He's brought some suggestions to me before last weekend and it helped.''
Shafranov worked on stickhandling drills and shooting drills this week. He's also working with players to disguise their shots.
``It's pretty good having him out here,'' Leo Thomas said. ``It helps a lot. I don't have any stickhandling any more. I just use my speed to create opportunities so it's good to have Shaffy here to do a couple of drills that I never would have done if he wasn't here.''
