Great scrimmage today

Ended on a 0-0 tie as both goaltenders looked great. Nobody looked out of place at all. Just a few things I noticed: Schrock is two strides faster than everyone right now, and there's a lot of speed in this group... Matt Ward split the defense at the red line on one play and was flat out gone... Kevin Reiter came out to the halfwall to scoop up a loose puck and shoot it up ice to a forward... Brad Pawlowski has some pretty good hands on him. He's got some offensive skills, but the main thing is can he skate at this level?... Danko Mironovic, yes, Danko Mironovic scored to win the shootout for his team, and then Nick Boucher made a great pad save on Brandon Warner... Olivier Legault looks very good to me. He's in fantastic shape and is skating very well... All the rookies look pretty good so far, and we'll see what happens in Thursday's game... Feel bad for Keith Rodger because he wants to play so badly, but he's got to be patient and let his back heal.

This is what Al Sims had to say today:

``Good pace, good tempo and everybody showed what they can do. I think we're really pleased with all of our young guys who haven't been here before. Bluhm and Marple, Tyler Fletcher, Brad Pawlowski. I think we're impressed with all our young guys. They are really quick, all the forwards especially. They all have great speed, and they look like Kaleigh Schrock when he came in last year as a rookie. Ward, too. They have good vision and play well within their own zone, so we've been impressed with the young guys and we'll see what they can do in a game.'''

The Komets will play all 12 forwards they have and will sit three defensemen during Thursday's game.
