The Komets announced Tuesday that defensemen Danko Mironovic and Keith Rodger have agreed to terms and will return for 2010-11.
Mironovic, 23, will be returning for his third straight year with the Komets. It will also be the defenseman's third pro year after skating three seasons of juniors in the OPJHL. In his pro debut Mironovic was named the Komets' Most Improved Player for 2008-09. Last year the Zagreb, Croatia native scored a goal, added eight assists for nine points and posted a plus-18 while accumulating 88 penalty minutes in 72 games. Mironovic appeared in all 12 of the Komets' 2010 playoff games en route to his second straight IHL Turner Cup Championship.
Rodger, 25, also will be back in the Komet lineup after collecting two championships with Fort Wayne. Rodger first appeared with the Komets at the end of the 2008-09 season skating 11 games after completing four years with American International of the NCAA. Last season the Parshall, Colorado native scored two goals, 12 points and a plus-six in 69 games for his rookie debut before helping the Komets win the IHL Turner Cup title appearing in seven playoff games.
The Fort Wayne roster reaches five players with the signings of Mironovic and Rodger. Bobby Phillips will also be returning to the Komets' defense and forwards Derek Patrosso and Brandon Naurato were announced last week.
