The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Wednesday that Quad City right wing Chris Lipsett has been named the 2009-10 IHL Most Sportsmanlike Player as selected by league head coaches, general managers and members of the media.
Since signing with the Mallards this past offseason, the 35-year-old Ottawa, Ontario native has recorded 26 goals and 34 assists for a total of 60 points in 70 games so far this season. His 60 points rank him second on the Mallards roster in scoring. In his 70 games played so far this season, Lipsett has only accumulated 20 minutes in penalties.
