COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The man tasked with figuring out how to keep the financially troubled Blue Jackets in Columbus says a panel is recommending a plan built upon a public and private partnership. John Rosenberger was tapped to lead the efforts nearly two years ago, shortly after a report commissioned by the Columbus Chamber said the city might have trouble keeping the Blue Jackets because they were losing $12 million a year. The report suggested strengthening the team's finances through options such as new taxes or fees, selling shares to other investors or the general public, or attracting a second major tenant for Nationwide Arena. The team rents Nationwide Arena from the Nationwide insurance company and other owners for $5 million a year. Rosenberger was set to release the panel's recommendations Wednesday.
