"Obviously the past four years have been special for me. It's been my dream as a little kid growing up to someday play for the Komets. I can't let this take away anything from what we've done the last three years. Even this year, to look at where we came from, as low as you can possibly get as a team, to climbing back and finishing the year pretty good.
"At the same time this is something that is going to be hard for me to swallow for a while. I feel that I've given everything that I've ever had to the Komets and the community, to the fans, and I just feel that it's almost like I was too nice. That's frustrating because I take a lot of pride in giving back to the kids and the community because that's what got me into hockey in the first place, guys like Chinner, Hurd and Boycie.
"Obviously I'm mad and upset at the decision, but I hope the best for the team. That's part of being a good teammate, too. I still hope they have a lot of success."
