Billy Elvis will no longer work Komets games

After he was arrested  early Jan. 1 and charged with drinking and driving and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, local radio personality Billy Elvis will no longer serve as the Komets' fill-in in-house crowd announcer, Komets Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Scott Sproat said Wednesday night.

Elvis, who's real name is Christopher Durkee, has filled in for regular in-house announcer Wade Weaver on several times during recent seasons.

According to WANE, Elvis faces a felony charge of Operating Vehicle While Intoxicated: Prior Conviction, along with misdemeanor charges of pot possession and paraphernalia possession.  He was also cited for Failure to signal for Turn or Lane Change.
