From a Komets' press release
The CHL Presidents' Cup Champion Fort Wayne Komets held their 2012 championship party and jersey auction Thursday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
Prior to the start of the auction, Fort Wayne city councilman Tom Didier, who also starts most Komet home games with the traditional singing of the National Anthem, kicked off the celebration with the reading of Mayor Thomas C. Henry's proclamation proclaiming Friday, May 11, 2012 as Fort Wayne Komets Day, encouraging all citizens of the city of Fort Wayne to wear orange throughout the day in honor of the CHL Presidents' Cup Champion Fort Wayne Komets.
Specialty items included framed-photos by photographer John Rothwell, a pair of Colin Chaulk bobble-heads, a Komets championship banner and a Komets championship season scrapbook.
The game-worn jerseys and various specialty items combined to raise a total amount of $24,100, besting last year's total of $18,325. Net proceeds from the jersey auction will be distributed to charity.
