The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have assigned goaltender Kenny Reiter to the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.
Reiter, 25, dressed as the Sound Tigers backup goaltender in both of their preseason contests. The Pittsburgh, PA native appeared in one game last season with the Sound Tigers after joining the team on an amateur tryout contract, making 26 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on April 14. Prior to turning pro, Reiter spent three seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship during the 2010-11 season.
