Toledo won 8-7, needing a shootout. Taylor Raszka scored a hat trick for Toledo and Adam Lewis scored two for the Komet. Other scorers for Fort Wayne were Scott Collins (local amateur player), John Hilworth, Kelly Perrault, Martin Burgers and Dale Baldwin. Kelly Hurd scored in the shootout on Doug Teskey, who played goal for both teams.
