The Komets, in conjunction with MyTV Fort Wayne, announced Wednesday that 12 road games during the 2013-14 season have been selected to be telecast live on the station's Fort Wayne digital and cable channels.
21Alive's Tommy Schoegler and Kent Hormann will handle play-by-play duties during the season. Schoegler will also host SoundOff with the Komets for the third consecutive season starting Oct. 14 on 21Alive. Sound Off with the Komets will be telecast live from Champions Bar and Restaurant in downtown Fort Wayne each Monday night at 7:30 throughout the year.
“MyTV Fort Wayne is the perfect free local TV outlet for our area’s premier sports franchises,” says WISE/WPTA President & General Manager Don Osika. “Our partnership with the Komets continues to grow and Tommy’s passion for the team will really show through. The result is a great opportunity for fans to further connect with the team and station.”
The MyTV Komet Hockey broadcast schedule begins with the Komets' game at Evansville Sunday, Oct. 27 and concludes with the Komets' tilt at Toledo Friday, April 4.
“We’re always excited when we can bring new platforms for Komet fans to ‘Join the Krowd’ and follow the team on the road," Komets vice president of marketing and sales Scott Sproat said. "The schedule of games on MyTV will allow fans a chance to see some of the ECHL’s other venues and compliment Bob Chase’s radio broadcasts in providing fans with yet another opportunity to stay connected to the boys. The partnership with 21Alive that has resulted in the ‘SoundOff with the Komets’ show and coverage has been fantastic and we’re looking forward to Tommy Schoegler and Kent Hormann making these broadcasts on MyTV appointment television here in Northeast Indiana.”
