The ECHL announced that the Fort Wayne Komets' website, Komets.com, is the 2013-14 recipient of the Website Award of Excellence.
Fort Wayne was a finalist along with the Bakersfield Condors (BakersfieldCondors.com), Reading Royals (RoyalsHockey.com), Toledo Walleye (ToledoWalleye.com) and Utah Grizzlies (UtahGrizzlies.com).
All ECHL websites were reviewed by the staff of NewSport Media and were judged according to criteria including design, mobile readiness organization, site flow, update frequency and performance.
The Fort Wayne website was re-launched as a "new-and-improved" site in June, 2012, and promised improved navigation for all fans and a design that would enhance the fan's and visitor's experiences as well as integrate all of the Komets promotional, marketing and informational efforts through social media and the internet.
Fort Wayne's Vice President Scott Sproat commented: "The goal of the new Komets.com is to provide a more total entertainment and involvement experience for Komet fans worldwide. Also, we sincerely appreciate the efforts of Cirrus ABS for designing a fantastic site that will only get better as we move forward."
Cirrus ABS, located in Fort Wayne, designs and hosts Komets.com. The Komets official team website is the first pro sports franchise site that Cirrus ABS developed.
