Komets General Manager David Franke said the team is talking with forward Leo Thomas and may have him signed in time for practice tomorrow. There is currently no contract signed.
"We've been looking at Leo ever since he got waived by Bloomington last week," Franke aid. "We felt right now that we needed a little bit more offense and that's why we're going after Leo."
As for the Komets' need for defensemen, Franke said, "Everybody is always looking for defensemen and we're looking also. Leo is a very talented kid and we need a second-line center. When Curadeau gets back and Shafranov gets back then we'll have to make some decisions, but that's is down the road. We're adding some offense and we're adding speed to the team. Leo is a very good skater with a lot of speed. That will be a nice element to our team."
The veteran had four goals and six points in nine games with Bloomington this season. Last year he had 21 goals and 62 points in 71 games with the PrairieThunder.
