David Franke said he is not talking with Pascal Morency, Mario Larocque or J.C. Ruid for next year.
He'd like to re-sign both goaltenders but does not know yet if the club will be able to afford both.
The Komets expect to have a 20-man roster going into training camp, under the league limit of 21. The salary cap is remaining the same, meaning not everybody will be back because everyone understandably would like a raise.
Franke said he believes Mitch Woods will sign in the ECHL.
One nice thing about the roster change is that the IHL teams will not have to release anyone at the playoff roster deadline unless they choose to.
Youngstown is definitely not coming to the IHL. The Steelhounds are going dark for a year, which is why Kevin Kaminski is coaching Memphis of the CHL. That's still some long bus trips for Killer.
Brandon Warner and Olivier Legault have not signed for next year yet, but the Komets are again interested in both. They also expect to sign Evgeny Saidachev.
The Komets are not working on formal affiliations with AHL teams but would like to find spots for 3-5 players to go to AHL training camps.
Larry Schmidt is still the best wedding DJ I've ever heard and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is getting married.
Congrats to Brandon Warner and Kevin Hansen for getting married June 28. No, they were not at the same wedding as Larry and I.
The Komets expect to have 3-4 players at the TRF parade this Saturday. Coach Al Sims will be there, Bob Chase will not.
As I said in the other post, the Komets are meeting with Kevin Reiter, Guy Dupuis and David Hukalo this week.
