The Komets clipped the visiting Quad City Mallards 2-1 Friday night. Not only did the score give the Komets their sixth win of the season but it also made Komet fan Jeff Bonar $10,000 richer.
Bonar guessed the correct scores at the end of each period for the award in the $10,000 Score Prediction contest sponsored by Fort Wayne area Jeep and Chrysler Dealers. Bonar registered online at www.komets.com the correct scores of 1-0 at the end of the first period, 2-1 at the end of the second period and 2-1 at the end of the third period and becomes the first winner of the contest which has been held for the past eight seasons.
