Wings led 2-0 before the Komets rallied on a goal by Leo Thomas. With 6:58 remaining in the period, the clock stopped for about a minute which came into play when David Hukalo stole the puck behind the Kalamazoo net and passed out front to Brad MacMillan who drilled a slap shot past Joel Martin as time expired. But the goal light never came on. The Wings did not protest, and replay showed the puck was on its way out by the time the green light came on to show time was expired.
My immediate reaction was that MacMillan had his arms raised by the time the horn went.
Thomas's goal really gave the Komets back their jump.
Referee Mike Hoberg is calling a completely different game than Ryan Carroll called on Friday night. There were six penatlties in the first 14 minutes. This is inconsistent with the way Game 5 was called, but it's also totally consistent with the way Hoberg called games all year.
