David Gladieux handily defeated Luke NaThalang in Tuesday's Republican primary for Allen County sheriff and will face unopposed Democrat David Roach in November.
It's no surprise the hotly contested District 15 seat being vacated by retiring State Sen. Tom Wyss was a nail biter, but former Fort Wayne City Councilwoman Liz Brown came out on top after a tight battle with opponent Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries.
Her opponent made the argument, but not even last year’s record homicide rate could keep Karen Richards from handily winning a chance at her fourth term as Allen County Prosecutor.
It was a good night for incumbent Republicans seeking key Allen County races – and for one newcomer in a race vacated by an unsuccessful candidate for State Senate.
In two of the more closely contested primary races for state representative, one incumbent survived, while another was beaten handily.
The train that is Republican Congressman Marlin Stutzman in U.S. House District 3 continues to chug right along.
