Fooing around with the puck up high is normally the cause of that Alan. Pinching defenceman or my all time favourite.... Shooting the puck into the wingers pads instead of sending it off the boards into the corner to start your cycle again.
That is such a peewee play.
But don't you have to shoot anytime you have the puck on the powerplay? That's what my section always yells!!!
Hoss, only when the shooting lanes are clogged with no hope of the puck making it within 5 feet of the net are you expected to shoot...

Another one that drives the pros crazy is the shot right along the ice. Unless it is a slap pass to a wide open teammate, the puck should always be off the ice. Not eye high but enough to get over a stick. It is too easy for the defender to stop the puck right along the ice and send it out.
I hear you Hoss, when I was there a few weekends ago I noticed it a lot. As soon as they gained the blue line it was "shoot". LOL
Yeah, "shoot", "too many men on the ice", and "hand pass" when they aren't or are legal drive me nuts.
