I hope they come out with they played the first 5 minutes of the game. I do not remember that many body being thrown all year.

Great, emotional game last night. From pure frustration in the first two periods to being on the edge of my seat the third and the o.t.,that was the best game I've been to this year. When the K's stopped the trap style of play it was a whole new ball game. And what's with the broken sticks. Do they all use the two piece sticks nowadays? Seem like junk to me. What's the free giveaway for catching a stick in the crowd?

Komets came out like fire for the first 3 shifts. Then we started that "trap" crap! Ended up chasing them all over the ice. Should have changed goalies earlier as Randy pointed out at goal number 4 for the Eagles. That team can flat out fly and pass sooooo good. Looked like an NHL team against us. Ok then we are down 5-2 and in comes Nick. Then the guys started taking the body and forechecking hard plus Apod was busting butt backchecking. We were going to the net putting on the pressure like most bloggers here have been yelling for all season. The guys proved that they can play with these men from Colorado! Now why change styles back to the old boring "trap" system that 65 regular season games showed that it wont work!? Coach needs to keep them playing the way they did the first 5 minutes of period one and all of period three. Simple as that folks. Play any other way than that you are just asking to be beat. So here is the plan. Skate hard. Take the body. Dont chase---hit! Forecheck like your life depends on it because it does! Forwards backcheck. Clear the rebounds. Offense crash the net and fight for the rebounds. Do not skate past the net. Cant really score a rebound goal if you want past the goal line. Do these things guys and maybe you go far. Do the system that you played most of the season and dust off the golf clubs. Simple as that. Would like some feedback on these thoughts guys and gals. Monday two must go. My picks are 9 and 71. Nothing personal here just the way it is folks.

I agree Tim. It's like they are smacking their foreheads saying "Why haven't we done this all year?" I'm sure Sims has his reasons for sticking with the trap but now it's clearly obvious that it's not the way to go at all. As for the two to go I hate to say it but I think #41 is one and #20 might be the other. Although #71 is a possibility. I just think that Mirasty cannot be used like he should be. Last night proved that when he just moved his stick in Penners direction and the ref. clipped him with the slash. Kind of a no win situation for Jon and the K's when that's the way it's going to be from here on out. But that's just my opinion.

Sorry to be a pest but I can't seem to find the answer to this and for some reason I really would love to know the answer. From everything I have heard and read Sims will be back next season...obv he is going to be expected to put together and recruit a totally different team. I have no issues with him being head coach again next year....in fact I am probably one of the few left on the blogs who WANT him back. I am not claiming he is the Almighty coach that can do no wrong...no way. I just still see him as one of the better more respected coaches and feel strongly that he had a good wake up call and will adjust accordingly. All this rambling and I haven't even asked my question...
Does anyone know if he as a head coach has final say on cutting a player even if the GM does not agree? I am sure that happens often since the coach would not be as worried about ties to the community players have as the GM would. Didnt know if there was an absolute rule on that or is it just whoever makes the better argument.
GO KOMETS!!!!! Loved that determination last night and can't wait to see it again tonight!

Thanks Frank from Police Squad!! See your point on the cuts. One could make a point for about everyone i guess. But if Nasty is only going 4 shifts a game then that is a waste. Eddie Long filling in for me on the broadcast tonight. He is the second oldest tv rookie just behind George Drysdale. Lol. Have fun #16!!
