I'm not planning on going to any games. I'd rather fall a sleep in my bed. I don't have blinders on. I see what is really going on. I'll spend my hard earned money in better places.
That is the best thing I have heard come out of you. I am sure no one will notice your not there.
I propose to notanihlfan that you invest some of your hard earned money on a How to improve your personality course. We wont miss you at the games.
I don't like being negative all the time but I don't see anything positive coming from this merger but the same kind of hockey we have had here for years. I hope I'm proven wrong but I don't think I will be. If you guys are happy with slow, sloppy and boring hockey then thats fine with me. But i'm not. I refuse to be scammed by paying AAA prices for single A hockey. Thats all I'm trying to say.
U-R- RIGHT, I would rather pay $75 a game & go see the Flyers but it is what it is.So if you don't like what you are paying for, then don't go.I don't want to pay $10 to see a movie so I wait to see it on DVD.I don't want to pay $3 for a beer in a bar.So I buy it by the case & drink it at home ,in the pool.Man that sounds good :) Red headed hockey chicks welcome :)
Thanks mightbite. It's always nice to know that one is welcome somewhere. B)
What frustrates me is knowing that Fort Wayne could easily support and AHL or ECHL successful franchise for many years but the owners don't want to give up there power obsession. I say put the best product on the ice you can afford and give the fans what they deserve. The komet ticket prices are the same if not a little more than the AHLs ticket prices. Look at Peoria, Ill. they are a smaller city than Fort Wayne and have had a AHL team for years. There is no logical reason why Fort Wayne can't do the same.
Sure there is. The owner in Peoria, Bruce Sauers, lost money there for years and wrote it off his car business. Then he sold it to the Blues because no one else local was interested in buying. No one is going to own the Komets and be able to afford those kind of losses. Now, if the Komets owned the building and got concessions and parking, you'd have a much stronger case, but they don't. Same ticket prices as Peoria is also a little bit of a misnomer because the coliseum gets (I believe) $2 or $2.50 off the top of every Komets tickets, and the Ks get no revenue from the suites. Someday that may change, but until then, no owner is going to risk millions to move to a higher-priced league here. I think that's one reason why the Frankes are pushing so hard for restructuring the minors. If that happens, maybe FW would be AAA again, but that only will happen if the NHL gets involved because they can control costs. So far, they have not.
Amen Blake!! You saved me a bunch of keyboard time.
