awwwww...poor MVL. well, hopefully he gets things straightened out for his sake. Hit, I think that talent level could be argued. We definitely have some underachievers here in FW too (even though I really do like the team this year and look forward to seeing even more improvement especially from rookies).

I agree.....we have some older guys in cruise control all ready this season. It really is sad. I hope Al takes that into consideration when he has to cut 3 guys soon.....much rather keep young guys who bust it game in and game out rather than lazy older guys that coast 3/4 of the game. Just my opinion. Maybe this should wake some of them up and they will fight for their jobs.

Those old "lazy" guys always show up in the playoffs...
I don't get the hype with MVL. He never really lived up to it, thats why he gets cut everywhere he goes.
DeAngelis needs to be a forward or a free agent. I don't see him working out on the blueline.

Yep, definately not a Tolkein elf! lol My first thought when I saw "Hyphen" (Mom's name for MVL) was cut was "I'd take him back"... but who do you cut? I'm sure there are many teams around minor hockey who would love to have the K's problem of too much talent and not enough roster spots!

I liked MVL, but would not cut any of the forwards we have for him.
Blake, any word on Evgeny Saidachev?

Just a review from my point of view:
Potts is not able to play at this level
It's Time for Guy #2 to start thinking about life after hockey
Pizza guy is a joke
My vote for rookie of the year so far is Bobby Phillips (real D-man) I know Kaleigh Schrock is more exciting, but the team needs real stay at home D.
Coach Sims is doing a very good job
"Backup" Tim Hann is a wonderful starting goalie
The new guy #96? was a great pickup
Leo needs to get his ass in gear
Just my thoughts, I know you did not ask for them.

I agree on all accounts there Matt........except for one. Timmy has played well, but you can't quite call him a starting goalie UNTIL he carries the team for a whole season. Thats what a starter does. Right now he is doing a great job filling in for an injury. Once Boucher is back, he will be back on the pine for most of the games........Boucher is MVP material and arguably the best in the league-he has proven that the last 2 years. Now, I think they have 1 great and 1 very good goalie to make a great tandem for the rest of the season and maybe beyond?? It would be great to have them back in the future as a tandem

I'll toss in a 2nd vote for Bobby Phillips! The guy does his job quietly, and does it well. Good dman-reminds me of Bertram when Bert was in his prime.

I agree with Phillips. I think Mironovic is close behind in defensive play as well. I really think the young defensemen have stepped up and are leading this team right now and carrying the older Guy's butts.
Chewy was a huge find. He gives us something we didn't have at all. Gritty sniper that can handle the puck and change a game with his speed and play making ability. He passes the puck like no other as well. Great offensive pick-up. Incredible that QC passed on him.
I really think the level of overall play and talent on this team could be the best we have seen the last 3 seasons once everyone is here and playing. People will toss out names like Aquino, Curadeau, and Hodgeman.....but from top to bottom, the defense is solid, the goaltending is solid, and we will see offensive fire-power once everyone is playing together on set lines. The rest of the IHL will piss and moan when we win the cup again.....oh well.

I have to agree with Matt on Leo sometimes. He'll have those games where he plays like he has pepper in his shorts, but those seem to be getting fewer and fewer. I like the guy, but... And I still can't belive Chewy was available. I remember him from the UHL Quad City days and thought he was a pain in the backside that I wouldn't mind seeing in a K's jersey.

That and it's just plain fun to hear people in the stands try to pronounce "Chwedoruk"....the dude in front of me last week mangled it so badly I laughed out loud and he turned around to see what was so funny! Of course, he took offense when he saw I was laughing AT him, not WITH him....sigh....oh well, a little sense of humor goes a long way.
