The ECHL on Saturday announced that Fort Wayne’s Brent Henley has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #55, Gwinnett at Fort Wayne, on Oct. 26.
Henley was assessed a match penalty for fighting under Rule #46.14 at 19:52 of the third period.
Henley will miss Fort Wayne’s game against Gwinnett tonight.
He's been put on reserve with a high ankle sprain. He won't play until late next week at the earliest.
It's 3-1 Gladiators after two periods and frankly it should be a lot worse. Shots are are 25-15 in Gwinnett's favor. The Gladiators are just too quick, and the Komets can't get out of their own way or their own zone. Nobody looks good for the Komets, with the possible exception of Marco Cousineau who is keeping them in the game.
The Komets announced Thursday that goaltender Kenny Reiter has been recalled by the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.
Reiter appeared in three games with Fort Wayne over the first two weeks of 2012-13 and posted a 1-0-1 record and an ECHL high 0.83 goals-against average and .973 save percentage.
Well, the stick has been sold. All details are remaining private, though I can tell you both sides are satisfied with the results. Thanks to Larry Schmitt for helping out on this one.
So the New York Islanders are moving to Brooklyn. Don't they need a new nickname then? At the very least a new logo.
And the building is going to seat 14,000 to 15,000 for hockey. How expensive will those tickets be? OMG!
From 20 years ago, thanks to Dave Longsworth.
Again, works best in Mozilla Firefox.
Much like the CHL, the ECHL requires a team to ask for a review of a minor penalty by 12 p.m. the next day, and the Komets did not do that. There is also a $100 fee for such a request which is rescinded if the appeal results in a fine or suspension for the opposing player. Any penalty for a major, match or game misconduct is automatically reviewed.
From that angle, I would agree with most of you that the his was more suspicious. Watching it from above and seeing the replay from above, it didn't look like an illegal hit to me.
Such a hard call to decide on as shown by the two later hip checks in the game.
