Getting a new job

Wheels on the bus go...

The Komets are getting their sleeper bus from a company in Alabama. How'd you like to be the poor slob who has to make that trip just to get up here and then drive again for three nights. It's the same company Evansville used last weekend. It will sleep 23 or 24 people. It's also got couches and a small kitchen.

Neil Musselwhite will not play in a game for at least 10 days if the Komets sign him. He's been skating in Germany, but he needs immigration paperwork completed and some new skates. The skates he was using this season were left behind in Germany.

New guy at practice

Don't blink or you'll miss him. He's Neil Musselwhite, a forward from Oswego State. He won the Fastest Skater competition at the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge on Friday night at Ford Field.

The Burlington, Ontario native not only competed in the Fastest Skater competition, but the Hardest Shot competition as well.  He took second place in the event with a shot of 91.8 mph, which was behind Massachusetts-Lowell's Kory Falite, who blasted a shot of 92.9 mph.

``Satch'' Crawford has passed

You can read the obituary here.

Satch worked for the Komets for years and years helping out in the penalty box. As someone much better qualified than I said, ``He was a gentle giant who always had a smile on his face. Satch will be missed by man

TV schedule

Last Friday's game will be shown this Wednesday, and Saturday's game will be shown Nov. 17 on Access 1, Comcast Ch. 55 and Verizon Ch. 25 starting at 8 p.m.

I hear the couch calling me for a nap. Everybody enjoy what might end up being the last nice day of the fall.
