Cuts made, fines issued

The Komets have released Ricky Helmbrecht, Tim Buttery, Mike Hoban, J.P. Chabot, Brayden Metz, Seth Ronsberg, Cory Park, Patrick Knowlton, Matt Atsoff and John Dunbar today.

The ECHL has also fined goaltender Francois Lacerte because he didn't like getting belted to the back of the head by an Evansville player during Saturday night's game.

The league also fined the Komets because their video camera quit working and there was no video of the play.

Did anyone impress you?

Keep in mind, the Komets aren't looking for first- or second- or even third-line players out of these forwards. They are looking for a 10th forward. Same with the defense. They are looking for a 5th or 6th guy.

Effinger released

He's headed to Fort Wayne from Grand Rapids. Kenny Reiter is serving as the back-up tonight in Bridgeport's game against Manchester.

Who went to practice today?

Because I have to work HS football until all hours of the night, I needed sleep and didn't make it.

What did you see? Who did you like? How did you fight off the freezing cold? Who looked good?
