Stephon Thorne and Matt Atsoff during Thursday's scrimmage
Cory Schneider, Kyle Atkins, JP Chabot, Cory Park and Eric Giosa scored in the scrimmage... Schendier is the only player to go undefeated in the five scrimmages the Komets have played... Stephon Thorne and Matt Atsoff fought. Video is coming... Nothing really different from the rest of the week, really. Some good hockey. There are three or four players who are going to get cut who might have made last year's team. They are just bigger and faster... Don't forget that Friday's 10 a.m. practice at Canland is open to the public... Daniel Maggio is already in town and Brandon Marino, J.M.
They've been released by Norfolk and will be in town tonight and taking physicals tomorrow. They are not expected to play in either exhibition game this weekend.
Defenseman Ryan Hegarty has also been loaned from the Admirals to the Komets. The rookie is 6-0, 200 and played four years at Maine.
Chris Auger was back and looked good... Brett Smith was not playing because he was out of town picking up his kids... Practice was a lot quieter, but there was a lot more hitting... Patrick Knowlton scored twice, Matt Firman, Matt Atsoff and Brayden Metz... The goalies dominated the shootout as only Cory Schenider, Stephon Thorne, Cory Park and J.P. Chabot scored... Again, nobody looks too out of place, but the Komets basically have only four spots open at the most... Larkin Saalfrank robbed Eric Giosa on one chance... Atsoff keeps proving he has consistent offense...

Saalfrank stops Firman with help from Kishel
Schneider scored this goal off a rebound on Lacerte
Saalfrank stopped Atsoff on a penalty shot
Daniel Nycholat's goal
Seth Ronsberg, No. 25, deflected this pass from Brayden Metz top shelf.
Robbie Smith, black No. 55, scored the game-winner
Whoa, baby, was the trash talk flying today as the veterans finally showed up and engaged... A shorter morning skate meant everybody had some legs left for the afternoon, and it showed immediately... I was expecting everyone's legs to hit the wall today but it didn't happen... There was a much faster tempo with the skates and the tongues, but with Brett Smith and Kaleigh Schrock on the same team, that's gonna happen... Poor Stephon Thorne... Cory Schneider, Seth Ronsberg, Dan Nycholat, Matt Atsoff and Robbie Smith scored the goals today...
For this Saturday’s Komets exhibition game, the Rooftop Lounge will be closed to the public, to host a private event. Sorry, this doesn't mean the game is BYOB.
