Who's going to meet Stanley?

Want to let you know, The Cup (yes, it deserves capitalization!) arrives at FWI at 5 p.m. so it might not be there exactly at 5:30 p.m. Unfortunately, it needs to leave at exactly 7:30 p.m. so I'm guessing you're going to want to get in line early.

If you haven't had a chance to tour HOPE for Animals, you should take this opportunity. It's a very impressive operation.

CHL going into St. Charles, Mo.

GLENDALE, AZ (August 1, 2012) – The CHL announced on Tuesday that the Laredo Bucks franchise rights have been transferred to the market of St. Charles County in Missouri and that the new franchise will compete in the CHL beginning with the 2013-14 season and will be called the Chill.  The announcement was made on Wednesday at a press conference at the Arena Club Restaurant in The Family Arena.

Komets add four

The Komets announced Wednesday that four players have been added to the preseason roster.  Returning champions from last season include Chris Auger, Brent Henley and J.M.

What do the Komets still need?

Just talked with David Franke and he said they are looking for a couple of more goalies, some defensemen and some size in particular, but they are looking for depth in all areas. They'll have some announcements later in the week when I believe they'll announce players like J.M. Rizk, Stephon Thorne and Brent Henley have signed.

He said there's nothing new on Mike Vaskivuo and it might be too late to get him a two-way contract with an AHL team. Vask is heading to France on Aug. 10.
