When Colin Chaulk, Matt Syroczynski and Leo Thomas scored consecutive goals in 39 seconds during the third period Friday night, that broke the Komets' all-time record of three goals in 45 seconds set Nov. 22, 1962 against Sudbury.

Book signing and date change

Bob Chase and I will be signing books before Friday's game against Dayton. I'll also be selling copies of The Lake Effect and signing them before the game. Bob will be there from 7 p.m. when the doors open until about 7:30 p.m., and I'll be back during the first intermission.

The book signing Bob and I will also be doing at Komet Kuarters has changed to Thursday, April 15 from 4-6 p.m. Steve Fletcher and two as yet to be named players will also be there.

Bouchard named MVP

The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Thursday that Muskegon Lumberjack right wing Robin Bouchard has been named the 2009-10 IHL Most Valuable Player as selected by league head coaches, general managers and members of the media.

Haun cleared to start workouts

Komets goaltender Tim Haun received the goahead to resume workouts on Wednesday after a visit to the doctor. Haun has been battling concussion problems and has missed four games. He'll ride the bike on Thursday, but is not expected to play this weekend. He'll be ready to go next week, as will forward Brad MacMillan who is eligible to come off injured reserve on Tuesday.
